King Neptune was first opened in 1947 and has recently been taken over by Jimmy and Keaton Gilleece. It has been completely renovated and revamped with new staff and amazingly talented Chef Em of Maryland.
Chef Em grew up in Maryland learning to cook on her family farm, eventually leading to her recognition as one of the most talented seafood chefs in Baltimore. Em moved to Wilmington in 2020 to reignite her passion for feeding people, which happened quickly after returning to her roots and connecting with the area’s local farmers, bakers, and producers. The ability to source fresh, seasonal ingredients in this area ultimately took her creativity and skill to the next level and revived her purpose as chef. Chef Em’s mission at King Neptune is to continue it’s legacy by lending an elevated quality and provide Wrightsville Beach with it’s first true farm to table dining experience.
